It should say something about your community if one of your own leaves to experience life away in college and then moves further yet-- to be a school teacher and young husband/father; only to realize the best place to make a home for his family is the home he knew when he was young. Once he decided to make the move back, Eric immersed himself in his community of Heyworth with his wife and growing brood so that they too, could have the same sense of belonging. Whether it was church, school, little league sports, the fire department, or even his neighborhood, Eric would gladly "fill in the holes" in his town where he saw a need. Most of us know that just showing up is all that is needed sometimes. Mr. Moore has been doing just that for many years in one function or another. As mayor of Heyworth, Eric would no doubt latch onto his new responsibilities with the same knowledge, wisdom, and patience as his previous roles in life. Most importantly, he is someone who would give a damn about what he does and whom it affects. — Tom Peasley
